It’s an amazing feat, winning 27 straight conference championships, but that is what the Kent State Golden Flashes women’s varsity golf team accomplished on Tuesday.

Welcoming teams as the host of the Mid-American Conference Women’s Golf Championship, the Flashes demolished the field as the talented women combined for a 9-under-par score over three rounds.

The closest team to them was Eastern Michigan, which fired an 11-over-par to conclude the tournament.

Kent State now has an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals and found out on Wednesday afternoon while watching the Golf Channel that the team will be headed to Chapel Hill, N.C.

On the way to the MAC championship, Veronika Kedronova fired the lowest 54-hole round in conference history — 67-69-67 for a 203 total at 7-under.

She earned medalist honors to lead the Flashes.

All five members of Kent State’s team landed in the top 10 as Gracie Larsen was runner-up medalist, Leon Takagi earned fourth place and Isabella Goyette and Petra Babicova tied for ninth.

Going into the tournament, KSU was ranked 25th nationally and Eastern Michigan was 19th.

Kent State is coached by Casey VanDamme, along with assistant Manuela Carbaio Ra.
