Aurora completes fourth-quarter comeback to top Tallmadge

The Greenmen captured a come-from-behind victory by scoring 10 unanswered fourth-quarter points to snatch the victory from the host Blue Devils on Friday night.

In a critical Suburban League showdown, Tallmadge took a 30-21 lead into the fourth quarter, following a 35-yard Cameron Carvaines field goal as the third quarter’s only points for either team.

After a stagnant start to the fourth quarter, Aurora got on the board with 4:39 remaining on a 9-yard pass from Matt Geier to Cade Fromwiller. It was Fromwiller’s second touchdown of the game, with his first coming from the defensive side of the bvall o n a 23-yard fumble return.

The fourth-quarter aerial connection allowed Aurora (5-1, 3-0 Suburban) to cut into the Tallmadge (4-2, 1-2) lead at 30-28.

Just moments later, with 3:10 showing on the fourth-quarter clock, Dom Trivisonno booted the game-winning field goal through the uprights from 23 yards out.

Aurora’s defense held Tallmadge in check to preserve the victory.

Alex Tenorio led the Greenmen offense with 124 yards on the ground and 40 yards receiving.

Tallmadge’s offense was electric through the air, with Ty Hurst throwing for 307 yards on 15-of-27 passing.

Collin Dixon was Hurst’s primary target. The senior finished with 197 yards on eight receptions.

Aurora will travel to Kent to take on the Roosevelt Rough Riders in Week 7 action next Friday.

Kent Roosevelt is 2-4 overall and lost to Medina Highland on Friday.
