Before the start of the season, Windham football head coach Jake Eye said the success of his team’s season would be based on staying healthy.
It is a mindset that all football teams across all regions worry about, but it is especially the case for the Bombers based on the small size of the school.
The Bombers entered the season with 20 players total.
After two weeks of physical play, the injuries have started to mount and have forced Windham to cancel its Week 3 matchup versus Jackson-Milton.
Windham head coach Jake Eye confirmed Week 3’s cancellation on Saturday morning and confirmed that his team has now lost seven players to various injuries.
The game against the Bluejays was scheduled to be the home opener for the Bombers, who have just four home games this season.
The Bombers’ opponent in Week 4 is St. John, which is scheduled as an away game on Sept. 10. The determination for that game has not been made at this point.
