Waterloo’s Aidan King was one of many Portage County wrestlers to have a strong showing at the recent Disney Duals.
King, who will be a senior for the Vikings this upcoming school year, earned All-American status wrestling for the Ohio Titans.
He finished with a 9-1 record, including three pins, three tech falls and two major decisions while competing at 138 pounds.
“The Disney Duals was the perfect opportunity I needed to get back on the mat after an injury,” King said. “I was just 10 weeks post-op, and I only had a little bit of practice and almost no weight training going into the tournament, but I felt healthy and excited to be back on the mat. The time away, especially ending my season the way it did, only fueled my fire for my senior year.
“My training and lifting are back on track, and I am feeling better than ever,” King added.
