It was a busy week for bowling teams in Portage County as individuals and teams achieved success on the lanes.

A 300 GAME

It didn’t take in the young season for a high-school bowler to roll a 300 game.

The feat was accomplished by Brayden Darko, of Kent Roosevelt, in a match against Cuyahoga Falls at Kent Lanes.

Darko started the match against the Tigers with a 170 game, but that was all he needed to figure out the shot prior to his second game.

Twelve straight strikes earned the Rough Rider high-game honors.

Teammate Aidan Broyles also had a solid day on the lanes, rolling games of 212-243 in Roosevelt’s loss to the Suburban League opponent.

A NEW RECORD

Payton Curall of Rootstown, a state qualifier her junior year for the Rovers, started the season helping the Rovers top Alliance at Spins Bowl in Kent with a record-setting series.

The senior rolled a 485 two-game series that included games of 226 and 259.
