Kent Roosevelt and Kent State alumnus Randy Dietz qualified for the 57th PGA Professional Championship in April at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., thanks to his outstanding runner-up finish at the Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship.

Hosted by Tippecanoe Country Club, Dietz, a golf instructor at the Windmill Golf Center, fired three rounds of 72 for a 54-hole, even-par total of 216.

Optimus Golf owner, Mark Sierak, former head professional at Barrington Golf Club and on the Board of Directors for Northern Ohio Folds of Honor, tied Dietz with rounds of 73-74-70 to also earn his spot in the national championship.

Jim Troy won his third NOPGA Professional Championship in the past four years to become the third qualifier.

Kent State alumnus and current golf professional at Portage Country Club, Steve Parker is an alternate to the national event.
