STEVE PARKER

Steve Parker, PGA of American Board of Director and Kent State University alumnus golfer, has earned his PGA Master Professional designation.

Parker is currently a teaching professional at Portage Country Club in Akron.

The Master Professional status is the highest education designation a PGA of America Golf Professional may obtain.

DRIVE, CHIP AND PUTT

Registration is open for the 2025 Drive, Chip and Putt competition that leads qualifying juniors to a competition at The Masters.

Registration starts at the local level.

Local registration sites are:

• July 1: Windmill Golf Center, 1511 E. Aurora Road, Macedonia.
• July 12: Mill Creek Golf Club, W. Golf Drive, Boardman.
• July 27: Medina Country Club, 5588 Wedgewood Road, Medina.

• Separate age divisions for boys and girls include 16-19, 13-15 and 12 and under, Ages 13 to 19 compete over 18-holes both days, 12 and under play nine holes each day..
• July 20: 11^TH PORTAGE COUNTY KIDS AM: July 20 at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield. Golfers entering ninth grade and younger.
