STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ohio High School Bowling sponsored the Ohio State Championships open to boys and girls seventh grade through senior.

On Saturday, the tournament featured boys and girls from seventh through 10^th grade.

Among the 10^th grade girls, Joy Justice of Aurora finished in seventh place, tossing a five-game series of 910 with a high game of 224. She advanced to the stepladder finals and maintained her seventh place spot among the 25 girls competing.

Rootstown’s Olivia Davies earned 14^th place bowling an 805 series.

Ravenna’s Peyton Hover, bowling in the 10^th grade boys division, rolled a high game of 231 on his way to a 987 series, good for 17^th place among the 37 boys competing.

UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS

The Portage County USBC Senior Memorial Tournament will roll-off beginning at 10 a.m. on April 6 at Spins Bowl in Kent. All bowlers must be at least 50 years of age. Registration is welcome through the day of the tournament with a late fee. Forms available at area lanes. Entry fee is $50 prior to the tournament with a $5 late fee charged the day of the event.

The Portage County Masters is set to compete April 12-13 at Spins Bowl and Kent Lanes, both in Kent and Sky Lanes in Garrettsville.

Based on 72 entries, first place is awarded $1,700. Entry fee is $125.

Entry forms are available at all three houses.
