More than two months since its last game of the season, the Southeast football team continues to celebrate honors.
The most recent may be the most prestigious yet.
Southeast named a 2022 Academic All-Ohio Team by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association.
The Pirates were one of just 103 schools in Ohio to earn the lofty honor (over 700 school splay high-school football in Ohio).
“I am so proud of my dudes on the field, but even more proud of them off the field,” Southeast football head coach Patrick Youel said.
Additionally, Southeast senior football standouts Brady Corley and Carson Dunn were named as members of the OHSFCA’s Academic All-Ohio Football Team.
Only 189 players earned the honor in the state. To qualify, a player was required to be a senior, exhibit exemplary academic performance with a minimum 3.6 GPA and be named First Team all-league.
Corley will graduate as the Southeast High School Valedictorian, while Dunn will finish top 15 of his class.
“Both are incredible young men and are true measures of the combination of academic achievement and athletic excellence,” Youel said.
