The Rovers won their sixth game of the season to improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Portage Trail Conference with a lopsided win over the Knights.
After falling behind 12-10 in the first quarter and shooting only 4-of-18 in the opening eight minutes, the Rovers turned the momentum to their favor with a 16-8 second quarter to take a 26-20 lead into halftime.
Rootstown kept the pressure on JFK (3-3) by winning the third quarter 18-8 for a 44-28 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Nadia Lough, a sophomore, led all scorers in the game with 21 points. She hit eight field goals and was 5-of-6 on her free-throw attempts. Lough also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds to complete a double-double.
Brooklynn McIntyre added nine points for the Rovers and she also had a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Rootstown’s defense continued to put pressure on its opposition, forcing another 27 turnovers in the triumph.
