Jacob McPherson’s next race will be against the world’s best amateurs at the most prestigious competition in the motocross circuit.
The 15-year-old sophomore at Ravenna High School recently qualified for the 43rd annual Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.
The national competition will be held from July 29 through Aug. 3.
McPherson began racing motocross when he was 5 and qualifying for the national event was described as a “dream come true.”
McPherson has made a name for himself across the motocross circuit, with numerous victories and championships over the previous decade.
He races nearly every weekend at Grand National Cross Country Series events, as well as the National Enduro Promotions Group Series, traveling around the country to compete.
In Tennessee, McPherson will race in the highly competitive 250c and 250 limited divisions for ages 12 to 17.
The national event will feature 36 different race classes of competition for children as young as 4 to a senior division for riders over 50.
