The Northern Ohio PGA announced Monday morning that the 104th Ohio Open will be moving to Firestone Country Club in 2025.
Competing June 31, July 1 and 2, all three courses at Firestone will be utilized with the first two rounds on the North and West Courses and the final round on the South Course.
“We are delighted to bring the 2025 Ohio Open Championship to the storied grounds of Firestone Country Club,”” said David Griffith, executive director of the NOPGA.
It is exciting for golfers and spectators.
Earlier this season, the OHSAA and the NOPGA hosted the Division II State Golf Championships, both boys and girls, at Firestone.
The move marks a return to Firestone, which last hosted the Ohio Open in 1961 and 1962.
The Ohio Open turns 80 this year. It dates back to 1927, but it was not played in 1943 because of World War II.
