The 2023-24 high school wrestling season has been a bit of deja vu for the Rootstown Rovers.

Another league championship.

Make that nine consecutive and 13 in the last 14 years.

Also, additional career win milestones to celebrate.

Make it four for this season alone, with Will McEwuen, Tristen McKibben, Nick Malek and Tyler Paulus all joining the prestigious 100-win club.

McEwuen, who is now 21-10 this season, now has 111 career wins.

McKibben is 30-6 this year and has 112 career wins.

Malek is 29-7 this season and has 101 career wins.

Paulus, who is 25-5 this year, has 110 career wins.

“They’re all special in a way that they never quit,” Rootstown head coach Anthony Anderson said. “They have the ability to win big matches when they need to.

“These boys are fun to coach, hard workers, have good attitudes and are respectful to our coaching staff,” Anderson added.

McKibben and McEwuen wrestle similarly, with a slow pace and stalking style.

Malek and Paulus are alike in their styles, being a little more aggressive with an attack style.
