Thursday was already going to be special for the Field softball team, with Senior Night scheduled to celebrate Anna Harlin, Megan Schmidt and Bailey Evans.

It turned out that Thursday would be historical, too.

With the Falcons’ 11-1 Metro Athletic Conference victory over Woodridge, the Field softball program won the 700th game of the program’s history.

Field becomes the only Portage County softball team to reach the wins milestone and the 22nd all-time in Ohio history.

The second-most softball wins in Portage County belongs to Southeast with 554.

Overall, historically, Field softball’s all-time record is now an astonishing 700-255-1 for a win percentage of .731.

In Thursday’s game, junior right-hander Olivia Bey delivered a one-hitter and struck out nine.

Offensively, the Falcons were led by Delilah Rahe’s three-run home run in a 12-hit attack.

Maddie Burge had two singles, Tia Ulrich had a single and double and Bailey Evans had two singles.

The triumph improves Filed to 12-4 on the season and 8-1 in league play, sitting atop the MAC standings.
