The bats of Natalie Hammerschmidt and Grace Luli helped power the Rovers to a Portage Trail Conference home victory over the Tigers on Wednesday.
Hammerschmidt had a double and single to drive in four runs, while Luli had a pair of singles and three RBI.
Jessica Hahn, Shelbie Krieger, Kaitlyn Hammerschmidt, Boston Silveus and Reise Thomas all had run-scoring hits each for Rootstown.
Krieger was the starting pitcher, going four innings and striking out 11.
AURORA 13, BARBERTON 2
McKennah Metzger, Lailah Bohanan and Maggie McVicker all blasted home runs in Aurora’s Suburban League win on Wednesday.
The round-trippers were just part of the trio’s big days at the plate.
Metzger was 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored; Bohanan was 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Sophie Petrash was also perfect at the plate, getting a hit in all four of her plate appearances, including a double and three singles, while driving in two and scoring a run.
Sophie Retton and Rayna Unverferth also scored a pair of runs, with Retton collecting two singles and Unverferth three for the Greenmen.
BASEBALL
MOGADORE 3, ROOTSTOWN 1
Senior right-hander Mason Williams pitched a complete game to lead the Cats to a Portage Trail Conference win over visiting Rootstown on Wednesday.
Williams allowed only two hits and struck out four, walking just one. He threw 104 pitches and 60 landed for strikes.
Offensively, Austin Constantine was 3-for-4 from his lead-off spot ands scored a pair of runs. Aaron Rumschlag had the Cats’ only RBI.
