RIDERS FINISH RUNNER-UP AT THEIR OWN INVITATIONAL

They had to wait a week due to the weather, however, the afternoon flight of the Lady Rider Invitational saw eight teams vie for the championship at The Fairways at Twin Lakes in Kent.

Walsh earned the championship (323) followed by the host Riders (339).

Leading Roosevelt to the second-place finish was Ashlyn Leavery (80) and Adrianna Mineo (84).

Dixon Hill of Hathaway Brown earned medalist honors, carding an outstanding 68.

The Greenmen from Aurora finished in eighth place (399) as Manisha Girn shot the best score for her team (77) that landed her on the All-Tournament Team.

The tournament was originally scheduled for Monday with morning and afternoon flights. The morning flight completed nine holes as the Southeast Pirates won and the Kent B team took second.

Following the rains, Riders coach, Bryan Harvey, asked the teams to return for Friday’s make-up tournament.

FIELD AND STREETSBORO COMPETE IN MAC PRESEASON TOURNAMENT

The Field Falcons’ Mackenzie Boley (105) finished in the top 10 of the Metro Athletic Conference Preseason Tournament hosted by Pine Valley Golf Club in Medina.

Streetsboro’s Hazel Schoenherr finished just outside of the top 10, taking homme 11th place when she fired a 108.

Cloverleaf earned the team title (370) followed by Springfield (420).

The Metro Athletic Conference now begins play between teams before deciding the conference championship at the postseason tournament,
