THE PIRATES EARN ANOTHER TIGHT VICTORY

The Southeast Pirates improved their record to 9-2 in the MVAC Gray Division with a four-stroke victory over the Garfield G-Men 188-192 on Tuesday.

James Morgan again was the best on the fairways, firing a 2-over-par 38 on his way to medalist honors. Alex Peelish added a 46, Ethan Shodd a 51 and Shade Stevens a 53 for the Pirates’ winning roster.

Garfield was led by Hunter Anderson who fired a 44 for the G-Men.

 

WATERLOO LOSES ANOTHER TOUGH ONE

Waterloo welcomed Lowellville to the Vikings’ home course, Paradise Lake in Suffield, and suffered their fifth league loss of the season.

Lowellville topped the Vikings by one stroke (193-194) as Zoe Sargent led the visitors, firing a 5-over-par 41.

The Vikings Trevor Simons earned match medalist honors, carding a 3-over-par 39, with Clayton Smith adding a 49 to the Vikings’ total.

Waterloo is now 5-6 overall and 4-5 in MVAC Scarlett. Lowellville is 8-8 overall.

 

BADGER TOPS THE BOMBERS

Riverview Golf Course in Newton Falls hosted the Windham vs. Badger in a home match for the Bombers.

Badger fired a team total 163 to beat Windham (219).

The Bombers were led by Keegan Kiser’s 49 and Gavin Kiser’s 54, but it wasn’t enough to top Badger with a 38 fired by Ian Tricker and a 39 carded by Tyler McWilliams followed by Austin Mariani’s 40.

 

GIRLS GOLF

SPRINGFIELD BEATS FIELD AT SUNNY HILL

The Springfield Spartans picked up another win against Field at the Falcons’ home course, Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield on Tuesday.

The Spartans’ Brooke Porter led all golfers with a 45.

Field’s Mackenzie Boley fired a 50 and Kyle Finley added a 53 in the Metro Division loss.
