The fourth and final tournament for the Suburban League was hosted by Brookledge Golf Club in Cuyahoga Falls on Wednesday for both the American and National Divisions.

Aurora individual golfers demonstrated they were still among the best in the area as Gracyn Vidovic earned medalist honors in the American Division by firing an outstanding 69 — good for 2-under-par.

That score was also a tie with Serena Wu of Solon for medalist honors of the entire tournament of 14 teams.

Vidovic, a senior, continues her outstanding play for this season and the summer, where she won the Ohio Girls Junior tournament with a record-setting low score of 66 at Marion Golf Club in Marion.

Vidovic was backed up by teammate Manisha Girn, third-low score in the American Conference, a 76. Aurora finished in second place just behind Medina Highland.

The Kent Roosevelt girls finished their rounds around Brookledge in fourth place, carding a 359.

Senior Ashlyn Leavery fired the low score for the Riders (88) followed by Cassidy Singer’s 89.

Next up for the girls from Aurora and Roosevelt is the OHSAA’s Division I Sectional tournament at Old Avalon Golf Course in Warren on Tuesday.

BOYS GOLF ROUNDUP

It was a difficult day for teams at the Riverview Golf Course in Newton Falls competing for the OHSAA Division III Sectional.

It was also a long day as teams had a more than two-hour rain delay during the 18-hole round.

When everything was completed, Warren JFK fired a 290 to earn the sectional championship as five of its golfers were in the top-six individuals of the tournament. JFK is looking to defend its state championship from 2023.

Portage County teams included Waterloo (364), Rootstown (372) and Windham (444).

The low-score individual for each team included: Luke Simons of Waterloo (79), Luke Flowers of Rootstown (89) and Keegan Kiser of Windham (108).
