MORGAN TIES NINE-HOLE RECORD FOR SOUTHEAST
Southeast’s James Morgan is having an outstanding junior year and Monday was simply a continuation. As the Pirates beat Liberty (166 to 215), Morgan fired a 3-under-par 33.
It was not only the lowest score of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference match, but Morgan tied the Southeast program’s nine-hole record that had stood since 2012 when Joey Kainrad set the mark.
Alex Peelish added a 41, Ethan Shodd a 44 and Shade Stevens a 48 for the Pirates’ victory.
The Pirates finish the MVAC season with a 10-4 record.
VIKES TOP SEBRING IN FINAL MVAC MATCH
Waterloo’s Trevor Simons again led the Vikes to a MVAC victory, besting Sebring 171 to 221. Simons fired a 36, just 1-over-par at Paradise Lake. Mitchell Shepherd (43), Cole Kaiser (44) and Trevor Flarida (48) rounded out the home-team scoring.
Waterloo is 5-8 in the MVAC and 6-10 overall.
