Luke Flowers (43) and Ryan Wolf (42) posted the lowest scores for Rootstown as they beat fellow Portage Trail Conference competitor Lake Center Christian 175-194.
Rootstown improved to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the PTC as the Rovers’ scores were consistent adding Trentan Sines (44) and Anthony Cambareri (46).
Jacob Rainieri fired a 42 for the Tigers, who are now 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
TREVOR SIMONS FIRES 3-OVER-PAR
Waterloo split a home match at Paradise Lake in Suffield, losing to Jackson-Milton (159) and topping Western Reserve (232).
The Vikes scored a 187 thanks to the solid scoring of Trevor Simons, who turned in a 37 at the end of his round, 3-over-par at Waterloo’s home course.
Trevor Flarida and Cole Kaiser each carded 59s.
Jackson Milton’s Ryan Romiga earned medalist honors, ending nine holes with a 2-over-par 36.
Jackson-Milton improved to 6-1. Waterloo now owns a 3-4 record overall and a 3-3 in the MVAC Grey Division.
MOGADORE DROPS FIRST MATCH TO WARREN JFK
Warren JFK remained undefeated in the PTC (4-0) with a victory over Mogadore at Paradise Lake Country Club, 140-169.
The Wildcats’ low score was fired by Tyler Pendergast, a 1-over-par 35, with Jude Thiry adding a 41 and Jackson Lanham a 42.
JFK’s Andrw Frekenberg scored 1-under-par 33 to earn medalist honors.
Mogadore owns a 5-1 record overall and 2-21 in the PTC.
SOUTHEAST DROPS ITS FIRST MATCH TO CHAMPION
The Pirates dropped their first match of the season to Champion, losing by only six strokes, 177 to 183.
Despite the loss, James Morgan of Southeast, again earned medalist honors, firing a 36 on the Par-35 fairways of Bristol Wood Golf Course.
Champion’s Derrick Campbell fired a 42 for the home team.
Southeast is now 3-2, 3-2.
SAMMY MORGAN FIRES 40 TO KEEP SOUTHEAST UNDEFEATED
Southeast was the visitors at SugarBush Golf Club, topping the Garfield G-Men 166 to 313.
Freshman Sammy Morgan fired a 4-over-par 40 to earn medalist honors, with Taylor Blazek and Aubree Varga each carding 41s. Jessi Mix added a 44 to the Pirates’ scoring.
Garfield’s Lily Thompson shot a 56 for the G-Men.
Southeast remains undefeated overall and in the MVAC, 6-0, 3-0. Garfield drops to 1-3, 0-3.
AVA MILLER AND ANNA DRAGO PUSH ROVERS TO THEIR FIFTH WIN
The Rovers traveled to PTC opponent Lake Center Christian and left with a victory, 202 to 225.
Playing at Sable Creek Golf Course, Ava Miller and Anna Drago each played the course in Hartville to 49 strokes, with Alex Biggin shooting a 51.
The Rovers are now 5-2 overall.
