The Pirates’ offense will rely on multiple sets, but also getting into an uptempo style when possible.
Nettleton said he feels his team can be successful if his group “keeps improving, stays healthy and can develop needed depth.”
Senior Cami McPeak will take over at point guard after spending the off-season working hard to prepare.
“Her experience and ability to take care of the ball will be keys to our offense,” Nettleton said.
Joining McPeak in the backcourt will be junior Lexi Morris, who gained valuable experience last year and also had a nice summer.
Backups will be a trio of sophomores: Bailey Long, Alex Hrkach and Kristen Campbell.
The Pirates’ forwards are spotlighted by Anna Keto and Sophia Fischer.
Both are expected to step forward to take on a larger portion of the scoring offensively.
“Anna worked extremely hard and has really added long-distance scoring to her game,” Nettleton said. “Sophia is a great slasher and is becoming more consistent with her jumper.”
Katie Long, a senior, is also ready to earn minutes in the frontcourt.
“She has a nice touch and can knock down open looks.”
Sophomore Kayla Grope is a player that continues to improve.
“She will give us help on the boards and additional scoring,” Nettleton said.
Senior Mackenzie Foor will also get time at center for the Pirates.
“They are all great teammates,” Nettleton said.

“Our depth,” Nettleton said, “as well as our game experience from the girls coming off the bench.”
“I think Rootstown would have to be the favorite, but the league has tremendous balance,” Nettleton said.
