SEASON OUTLOOK

First-year head coach Courtney O’Donnell takes over the program after spending last season on the Field Falcons’ coaching staff.

O’Donnell is a Ravenna graduate and former Ravens player.

She wants her team to attack the hoop.

“We plan to utilize the athletes we have on the roster in a versatile ways,” she said. “If we come together as one unit, work together and develop, we can be successful.”

GUARDS

The Ravens’ backcourt is highlighted by senior Kyla Carney and sophomore Breena Kainrad.

“Kyla has great skills on the floor,” O’Donnell said. “She is a great leader and does it by example.

“Breena has a great shot and hustles,” O’Donnell said.

Jaylisa Thompson is a freshman, but has a lot of potential, according to O’Donnell.

Jaylynn Walker has put in a lot of work and will have a key part in the team’s rotation this season.

Kamryn Clark is quick and will be a backcourt boost.

FORWARDS

The frontcourt is led by Faith Farris, a junior, who O’Donnell described as a “very hard worker that really understands the game.”

CENTERS

In the middle for Ravenna will be Mary Laudato.

“She is excellent at playing in the paint,” O’Donnell said. “She will post up and is not afraid to be physical.”

WHAT MAKES THIS YEAR’S TEAM SPECIAL

“Our new start as a program,” O’Donnell said.

CAUSE FOR CONCERN

“We are very young, but this allows a lot of room to grow,” O’Donnell said.

LEAGUE OUTLOOK

“Norton is always a front-runner in the league, but Streetsboro will also be very competitive,” O’Donnell said. “Woodridge also brings back a lot and are well put together.”
