Portage Sports hosted its Girls Basketball Preview Night on Thursday at Rootstown High School, featuring eight Portage County schools playing in games against each other.
The event was the first of two preview nights that Portage Sports is showcasing, with the Boys Basketball Preview Night serving as the second and scheduled for next Thursday, Nov. 14, also at Rootstown.
In Thursday’s action, there were four two-quarter games played, with Kent Roosevelt vs. Streetsboro tipping things off.
That game was followed by matchups that included Southeast vs. Rootstown, Mogadore vs. Windham and Garfield vs. Crestwood.
The preview was designed to offer each team the opportunity to publicly showcase their team prior to the start of the regular season on Nov. 22.
All four of Thursday’s girls games featured competitive action.
Next Thursday’s boys preview will include the following game matchups: Field vs. Aurora, Streetsboro vs. Crestwood, Windham vs. Mogadore, Waterloo vs. Ravenna and Rootstown vs. Woodridge.
