The train that is the Garfield G-Men keeps picking up steam.

On Friday, in a Division V regional quarterfinal, the G-Men rolled past Harrison Central by a final score of 56-35.

The triumph sets up a Week 13 matchup with Perry, which is the No. 1 seed of Region 17 and like Garfield, the Pirates are undefeated.

The location of the showdown between the G-Men and the Pirates has not been announced yet. The regional semifinal will be played on a neutral site, which the Ohio High School Athletic Association will announce on Sunday.

As for Friday’s win over Harrison Central, the G-Men got out to a fast start and led 21-7 after the first quarter and 35-13 at halftime.

After being held scoreless in the third quarter, Garfield erupted for 21 more points in the fourth quarter.

In Garfield’s 12 games this season, they have yet to win by less than 21 points.

The G-Men used their powerful running game to distance themselves from Harrison  Central.

For the game, Garfield rushed for 270 yards on 34 carries (7.9 yards per carry).

The balanced workload included Eric Geddes with 98 yards in 14 attempts, Keegan Sell with 12 carries for 76 yards, while also scoring three touchdowns, with Devin Bates (50 yards) and Deacon Sommer (42 yards) also contributing.

Geddes was busy through the air, as well, comping four of his five passes for 155 yards (39 yards per completion) and three more touchdowns.

Sell scored three rushing touchdowns, while Leo Grandizio was Geddes’ favorite target, pulling in three receptions for 122 yards and all three of Geddes’ passing touchdowns.

Harrison Central was limited to just 61 yards on the ground on 25 carries, but the Huskies did find some success through the air with 368 aerial yards.
