Friday will be Champions Day at Crestwood.

The school district will host a day filled with athletic fun for students in grades six through 12 with special abilities from across Portage County.

The student-athletes will start the day by receiving the game-day thrill of having their names announced as they run through an on-field tunnel.

Athletic stations will include football, soccer, cheerleading, volleyball, golf, bowling, tennis and track and field.

Crestwood announced that it currently has more than 100 students from Portage County registered to participate, with another 100-plus educators and support staff assigned to guide the stations and participants.

All student-athletes will also receive a T-shirt and medal.

Additionally, Crestwood’s student athletic leaders will serve as volunteers throughout the day to organize the activities, with Crestwood educators Sherry Peters and Jill DeRamo acting as the lead coordinators for the event.

Parents of participants have been invited to attend the event.

Champions Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
