The Rootstown High School boys soccer program will host a Military Appreciation Night as part of the team’s matchup with St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday at Robert C. Dunn Field.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start, with the Rootstown girls playing, also against the Knights, in the 5 p.m. game, of the doubleheader.
For the boys military-appreciation game, the Rovers will wear a special green alternate uniform.
Other key parts of the night will include free entry for anyone with a military identification card at the gate, a pregame recognition of veterans in attendance, a table hosted by Mrs. Kavali for the 23rd Veteran and Color Guard provided by the Catholic War Veterans of Post 1954, Rootstown, Ohio.
The Rovers also helped raise funds for 23rd Veteran, taking portions of funds from the presale of military appreciation T-shirts and donating it back to the organization.
