SOUTHEAST AVENGES EARLY LOSS

The Southeast Pirates suffered their only loss in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Division earlier in the week to Champion.

But the Pirates did not let that happen again.

Southeast’s Cole Bruno

Firing the team-low score of the season, a 165, Southeast avenged the earlier loss, beating the Golden Flashes by 24 strokes.

The Pirates’ James Morgan fired a 1-under-par 35, continuing his outstanding season. Alex Peelish and Ethan Shodd each added a 43 to the score, with Cole Bruno scoring a 44 to total the best score of the season.

Champion’s Dylan Howell led the visitors with a 42 on his scorecard.

The win improves the Pirates’ record in the MVAC to five wins and only one loss.
