Aurora High School abruptly announced the resignation of boys basketball varsity head coach Greg Rodi on Tuesday morning.
The district sent out an official press release with the announcement, which read:
After two years as the Aurora High School varsity head basketball coach Greg Rodi has turned in his resignation effective December 13, 2022. The school district agreed that it was appropriate to separate and accepted the resignation.
The Aurora City School District wishes Greg well.
No further information was provided.
Rodi was in his third year with the program — two full seasons and two games into the 2022-23 season.
Tuesday was a game day for the Greenmen, who were scheduled to face Cuyahoga Falls.
The Aurora athletic department announced that the game against the Black Tigers, as well as Friday’s game against Tallmadge, have been postponed.
