Portage County bowling teams have almost concluded conference tournaments.
On Saturday, Ravenna, Field and Streetsboro competed in the Metro Athletic Conference championship at Spins Bowl in Akron and Kent Roosevelt concluded their conference season at the Suburban League Tournament.
The Ravens were led by Jake Stefansic, who bowled the high game of the conference tournament, a 252. Stefansic also earned second-high series, a 609, behind Ian Hartman of Springfield (613).
Also landing in the top-five series was Ravenna’s Carson Schueller (587), following a solid game of 243.
The Ravens earned fifth place, followed by Streetsboro in sixth and Field in eighth.
The Rockets best was rolled by Connor Stevens (217-580) and Brett Epple (207-501).
Field, in its first year, saw Peyton Hover roll a 191-478.
For the girls, Field finished sixth as Makayla Doak tossed a 349 series.
Ravenna’s Alannah Raffa rolled a 162 high game on her way to a 456 series.
Kent Roosevelt competed in the Suburban League Tournament on Saturday at Riviera Lanes in Akron.
The boys finished ninth and the girls seventh in the final conference event of the season.
The Rough Riders’ Aiden Broyles tossed the high game and series for Roosevelt, a 205-553, followed by Brayden Darkow’s 200-549.
For the girls, Ryleigh Balan bowled her way to a 495 series, with a high game of 188.
Teams now turn their attention to the Northeast District sectional and district tournaments, leading toward a berth at the state finals in Columbus.
Spectators should log onto the www.NEDAB.org/tickets to purchase admission for the events they plan to attend.
Tickets for sectional and district tournaments are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Sectional and District tournaments leading to the state championships for bowling are set for February.
DIVISION I SECTIONAL
Tri County: Kent Roosevelt, Streetsboro.
Boys and girls bowl Feb. 19 at Rosalind Lanes in Oakwood.
DIVISION II SECTIONAL
Tri County: Crestwood, Garfield, Ravenna, Rootstown, Southeast.
Boys bowl Fridayand girls bowl on Feb. 12. At Spins Bowl in Kent.
The Division I and II district event will be hosted at Reman Recreation in Lorain. The Division I district will be held on Feb. 25 (boys) and Feb. 26 (girls). The Division I district will be held on Feb. 13 (boys) and Feb. 24 (girls).
