Garfield high School will induct its Hall of Fame Class of 2025 on Friday when the G-Men boys basketball team hosts Brookfield.

The group will be recognized before the start of the varsity game.

The district’s Hall of Fame status is based off of three criteria, including athletic success, service to the school and post-graduate success.

The Class of 2025 includes:

  • Kayla Foy
  • Krista Foy
  • Mark Apple
  • Kyle Paul
  • Sebastian Neikirk

 

 

KYLE PAUL

Class of 1998

Track and Field: Two-time state qualifier in the 800 meters. … Still holds numerous high-school records. … Continued his running career at Kent State University, where he set additional program records.

Now: Currently a teacher and coach in North Carolina.

 

 

SEBASTIAN NEIKIRK

Class of 2012

Football: Two-time All-Portage Trail Conference. … Holds the school record for single-game passing yards at 389 yards. … First Team All-Northeast Inland District in Division IV at quarterback.

Baseball: Three-time All-Portage Trail Conference selection at shortstop.

 

 

KRISTA FOY

Class of 2004

Softball: First Team All-Portage County League. … Two-time Second Team All-Portage County League. … Portage County League champions in 2004.

Bowling: First Team All-Portage County League. … State qualifier and fifth-place team finish in Ohio in 2004.

 

 

KAYLA FOY

Class of 2004

Softball: First Team All-Portage County League. … Three-time Second Team All-Portage County League. … School record 56 wins as pitcher.

Bowling: First Team All-Portage County League. … State qualifier in 2003 and 2004. … Finished 12th individual at state tournament in 2004, with a fifth-place team finish.

 

 

MARK APPLE

Class of 1981

Contributions: Member of the high school football team. … Post graduation, Apple has been actively involved with the athletic programs for many years. He began coaching middle school football in 2000, where he impacted the lives of hundreds of players and sete the foundation for continued success of the program. He has also volunteered countless hours scouting, maintaining practice fields and helping with the stadium-renovation project.
