The Garfield G-Men racked up an astonishing 507 yards of total offense on Friday to continue their dominance through the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference.
The offensive output helped push Garfield to a lopsided 62-22 victory at Columbiana Crestview on Friday.
The win improved Garfield to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in league play, setting up a showdown with Brookfield next Friday. The Warriors are also 7-1 and 5-0.
For the G-Men, it was their seventh win against a team without a winning record and the team’s league wins have come against opponents with a combined record of just 9-29.
Garfield has dominated the league opposition, outscoring its league opponents by an average of 37.8 points.
On Friday, the G-Men amassed their 507 yards on just 44 total plays for an average of 11.5 yards per play.
The split offensively for Garfield included 275 yards rushing and a season-high 232 yards passing.
Quarterback Eric Geddes had his biggest day of the season, completing 7-of-9 passes and a pair of touchdowns on a 58-yard strike to Tyler Bortz in the first quarter and a 55-yard score to Keegan Sell in the third quarter.
On the ground, Jesse Grace scored another touchdown and had 82 yards on seven carries. A total of 11 G-Men carried the ball int he win and other than Grace, none of them totaled more than 50 yards on the ground.
