It was a special Homecoming Game for Nate Blasiole, who rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns to carry the Crestwood Red Devils to a big 37-7 victory at Jack Lambert Stadium in Mantua.

Blasiole scored from 3 yards out in the first quarter and added a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter from 1 and 5 yards, respectively.

In total, Blasiole rushed the ball 30 times and accounted for 70 percent of the Red Devils’ 323 total yards of offense in the game.

Wickliffe scored the game’s first touchdown to take a 7-0 lead and it was Blasiole’s first score of the game that cut the deficit to 7-6 after Crestwood’s 2-point conversion attempt failed.

In the second quarter, the Devils gained the lead they would never relinquish back on a 30-yard pass from Charlie Sommer to Noah Baker.

The touchdown gave Crestwood a 12-7 after, again, a failed 2-point conversion for the Devils.

The lead did get pushed back out to a touchdown difference, but unconventionally when Crestwood registered a second-quarter safety to make the score 14-7 at halftime.

The third quarter is where the Devils took control of the game, scoring 16 points on two more Blasiole touchdowns and a rarity, with the team’s second safety of the game — this one created by Tommy Georger.

The action gave Crestwood a 30-7 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Tristen Addis added to the lead with a 1-yard score to complete the scoring.

Defensively, Blasiole was also the team leader with 10 tackles.
