Hope Murphy’s college running career that has been filled with accolades earned one more.

As prestigious as they come, too.

Murphy, a 2021 Mogadore High School graduate, was named the 2023-24 Baldwin Wallace Women’s Senior Athlete of the Year.

Murphy, a senior majoring in hospitality and tourism management and marketing, has been named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference 25 times between her success as a cross country and track and field runner.

She has won 17 OAC championships, including two for cross country and 15 for indoor and outdoor track. She has also qualified for nine straight national championship meets.

Here is a detailed look at Murphy’s accomplishments to this point of her Yellow Jackets’ career: 

   • She was the 2023 and 2024 OAC Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year

   • 2022 and 2023 OAC Cross Country Runner of the Year

   • 2022 OAC Dave Lehman Outstanding Outdoor Distance Athlete of the Year

   • 2022 OAC Co-Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year.

   • Five-time Academic All-OAC selection

   • Two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American

   • 2022 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic selection.

   • She is a Dean’s List student and Jacket Scholar.

   • She is also the treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Treasurer and an engagement student-assistant for the Office of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement.

   • BW school-record holder in the outdoor 10,000-meter with a time of 36:50.80

   • BW school-record holder in the indoor 3000-meter with a time of 9:46.35

   • BW school-record holder in the indoor 500-meter with a time of 1:16.19

   • BW school-record holder in the indoor 800-meter with a time of 2:10.02

   • BW school-record holder in the indoor one-mile with a time of 4:54.79

   • Set Dan McCallion Track record in outdoor 800-meter in a time of 2:17.04 on April 27

   • Set Walsh Tune-Up meet record in the outdoor 800-meter in a time of 2:17.04 at Walsh Tune-Up on April 27

   • Set Walsh University’s school record outdoor 1500-meter in a time of 4:41.89 at Walsh Tune-Up on April 27

   • Set Dan McCallion Track record in outdoor 1500-meter in a time of 4:41.89 at Walsh Tune-Up on April 27
